PPL – airplane private pilot course

This is the first basic NON-PROFESSIONAL aeronautical license. The holder of such a licence is allowed to act

-  As Pilot-in-command of single-pilot operations certified aeroplanes (single-engine or multiengine if holding the appropriate rating) engaged in non remunerated flights, holding the corresponding Class/type ratings.

-  As pilot in instrument flight conditions when holding the Instrument Rating.

 

It is the initial licence obtained before becoming a professional pilot.

 

Requirements:

-  Minimum Age: 16 years

-  Class 1 or 2 Medical Certificate

-  Pass the ground school and flight exams on the Private Pilot’s Course

Note: in order to get IR (Instrument rating) qualification,additionally  you need to learn Radio communication frazeology (Airspeak) 80 hrs.

 

Flight Training:

45 hours flight time in aeroplanes.

Out of the hours, a minimum of: 10 hours solo flights in aeroplanes under the supervision of an authorised flight instructor, including 5 hours solo cross country flights and, a cross country flight of at least 270 Km. (150 nautical miles), during which full stop landings will be carried out at two different aerodromes.

 

Course Programme:

-  Ground School Phase: 130 hours over a period of 2.5 months.

-  Practical Phase: It usually takes 2 to 4 months to fly all 45 hours. It is possible to fly on Saturdays and Sundays.

-  Flights are carried out at Paluknys (EYVP) Airport.

 

 Exams:

At CAA office, on the dates specified and supervised by an inspector authorised by the Civil Aviation Authority.

This Private Pilot’s Course for Aeroplanes is part of the 1st training stage on the way to obtaining the Professional Pilot’s Licenses (Commercial and Air Transport).
 This price quote is based upon the minimum hours required by the current regulations. The lack of skill of the trainee may increase these minima and therefore the costs.
